Day 6 - January 4th, 2009 - Manzanillo, Mexico

We found this post card and thought it would make a good opening picture!!

Well I guess to be fair we should of taken a picture of the dock in Manzanillo which was a commercial port (Not so attractive) So, I guess it’s fair to say we just aren’t fair. . .

Because it is a commercial port, you must be bussed out of the port. We paid the $8 and ended up in downtown Manzanillo by this beautiful foutain. . .

That’s our bus in the background!! okay settle down. . .

turn around to see a big blue fish. . .

In the background lies a naval base

Now we didn’t sign up for any excursions so we were on our own once we got off that bus. . .

Of course Manzanillo being what it is, the giant motropolis that it is with all of those great travel commission commercials you see all the time. . .

We headed down the first street we saw and never looked back. . . . . We were amazed at all the colors here. . .

It was fun to see all the tier’d architecture. Steps that just lead up and away through beautiful winding pathways.

We did all our shopping in Manzanillo. So we went into many shops and stores. We found something for all of the kids and even some stuff for ourselves.

For those of you who may not know, Lisa collects Elephants (We have a giant nature reserve back at home that we let them graze in). We found the coolest personalized Elephant key chain. The man cut her name in the blade of the key while we waited (it only took about a minute)

We looked everywhere we went looking for Pura Vanilla for Lisa’s sister Linda (that is a story in an of it self, needless to say we eventually found it at the open market)

This “open” market. . . a lot like a farmer’s market back in the States has just about everything you can imagine. Fresh Fruits, Meats, Fish, etc.

After miles of walking and a few blisters we ended up back at the main plaza we started in. We still had about three hours before the ship left so we caught a cab and headed to the beach.

This filled beach sat directly across the bay from the Spirit.

After taking our shoes off and taking a long stroll down the beach, we decided it was time to grab a bite to eat and catch a cab back to the ship. .

And here are both!! (The restraunt from the back of the cab)

So off to ship to find a cute little guy waiting for us. . .

(Lisa’s favorite of course!)

Our Sunset Picture of the Day!!!
