Day 9 - January 7th, 2009 - Disembarkment Day

Back in San Diego!!

Early to rise!!!

A look out our stateroom when we woke up!!
We have a few hours to get to the Phahrao’s palace for disembarkment so we thought we would head down and have breakfast at the Empire Room. We should have been coming here every day. It was the best breakfast we have had during the cruise.

We made it to the Top deck of the ship to find the sun rising behind the city. . .

We made our way to the Pharaos’s palace at about 8:10am. We waited around for a while then to our surprise, Ana showed up. We made our way over to where she was and sat down on the floor and chatted. Sadly, we found out that she had woken up at 5am and was out of her room by 6am. . . So the breakfast we ordered showed up after she had left. . . .

Katie, our favorite entertainment director lead the first group (including us) to the exit of the ship where we disembarked and made our way to the bus. As fate would have it, we ended up with Anna on the same pre-paid bus shuttle going to the airport.

We showed her some pictures on our phones and chatted before she got off at the Alaskan airlines terminal and we said goodbye.

Our friend Anastasia

We got off the Shuttle at the Delta terminal and got checked in. Going through security is always fun. Luckily it only took about 10 minutes. . .

We had some food, bought a couple of magazines and took some pics. . .

We took a picture of this plane that sat right outside of the windows we were sitting at and rocking away!!

Our flight left promptly at 1:05pm

A view of sunny San Diego and Lisa's recurring wing phenomena. . .

Our last look at San Diego before heading to the freezing temperatures of Salt Lake City.

And we have touched down!! Looks like the trip is over.

We know that this is the start of many adventures and hope that you will enjoy following our future adventures right here!!

Thanks to everyone who has followed our blog. It's been an incredible experience for both of us and we have met some great people who we hope to remain friends with for years to come. .
